How to take the passie away?

We are wanting our almost 2 year old son to give up the passie. Taking the bottle away was VERY hard. Can you share your stories of how you got rid of the passie so i cant come up with a better way.

Nope all three of my kids gave up their PACIFIERS on their own.  My youngest was almost four.  There is no reason to force a child to give up a pacifier just because some feel it is socially unacceptable.

Snip the end off the pacifier and give it to him. Don't let him see you do it!
