Question:

How to teach someone English = " will be" and "will"?

I am teaching someone english. The person asked me when do we use"will" and "will be" ina sentence. I could not translate the difference in her language but gave examples of sentences like: I will be there on time and I will eat this icecream. But still I don't think she gets it. Any ideas how to explain this better?

I am no teacher but just trying to help a friend in need.

Thanks

  1. Tell her WILL is an auxiliary verb that makes the verb that comes right after it be in the future;

    Not just TO BE, but any other verb, such as: to go, to do, to see, to buy... Give her examples.

    And reminder her that the main verb does not need to be in the infinitive, so she won't have to use TO between them, like: I WILL TO DO THIS.

    Show her the right way.

    I hope this will help. Good luck!

  2. the word 'be' is just another verb in the sentence that shows you will be completing that action in the future.

    It's the same as any other verb that follows 'will' like eat. This shows you will eat the ice cream in the future.

    There is no difference.
