Question:

How to teachers react to shy students?

I'm a very shy (going on social phobic) high school student. I've always wondered how teachers see me. Are they afraid to talk to me? Afraid they'll scare or upset me? I really want to have that relationship with teachers where I feel able to talk to them freely. Any tips on that are also welcome. So, how do you think a teacher would view/judge me? Also, I'm a straight A Honor roll student.

  1. All teachers are different, so it's hard to say. Just participate in class a lot=)

  2. it depends on the teacher. i dont talk at all even when im called on i might mudder somthing that they cant hear but thats about it im horrible, but

ive had the 'oh shes suisidal' teacher

    the 'she's being abused' teacher

the 'she's a great student i wish i had mosr like her'

    the 'wow she listens!...weird'

the 'you're not trying because your not talking' (..?)

and the ones who dont care.

so it depends just be yourself anf let them judge you. be sure to listen and study hard show em your smart and they'll usually let you be. thats how ive found it to be. and ive been to 7 schools so (11th grade) i've know different techers from all over the us.

  3. with my experience im really outgoing when it comes to talking to teachers and have great relationships with them all and dont worry they dont think your crazy or anything....one time i asked my teacher what he thought about this really shy girl and he said that he thought that she would go a long way in life and be very succesful but if your one of those girls that is like goth then they probly think your going to blow up the school

  4. WELL, teachers might think ur okay.  But sometimes they might feel sympathetic by thinking ur a loser if ur too quiteinfront of them and talk to them about personal stuff and friends. beliveme  if u talk toomuch to teachers then kids will think ur a loser and so will teachers. Just be plain cool have friends be kinda loud but when its time to listen first studies education then friends and other stuff. cause belive me later on when ur in college u willnot rmember any teacher or any friendsjust be good in education and social life just be cool.try not to be tottaly SHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  5. hi, u have got very simple problem and u can easily get rid of it

u just do one thing that try to talk more with  your teachers not only about subjects and other general matters & express u r feelings in the form of Question and know their opinion on u.

it is not easy but it works

  6. always try to face the world with friends

  7. I think that if you are a shy student you should find an opportunity to talk to the teacher when he/she is not teaching. For example, wait till the class is over and talk to her. Tell the teacher how you feel. Ask the teacher how she/he feels about you. Make sure your good grades will not be affected because you are too shy to participate.

If there's any opportunity, talk to her about your concern with group presentations, ask her if she/he can give you the chance of working individually and present the material just to her. I think that a truly good teacher adjusts to the specific personality of each student and works with what the student can give.

Now, as a teacher, I would recommend you to fight against that shyness because at some point in your life it can affect you. You should never loose your confidence, because hey, you ARE a good student.

About what teachers think about you... I think that from what I perceive of your personality, you shouldn't be concerned about what  teachers think about you, but what YOU think about Yourself. Start loving yourself, believing in yourself and thinking that everything is gonna be okay. When you are assigned for an oral presentation or group presentation, take it as a personal challenge,  and find techniques to forget about the nerves. Prepare small index cards to guide yourself, start memorizing until you start being less shy, be yourself, don't fear to loose face because, believe me that even when the rest of the students do not demonstrate it, most of them are equally or worse nervous than you are. They are in the same position you are.  Good luck and remember that no one in this world has the right to judge you. You are who you are. And if people don't like it, then they are the one's  who have the real problem.
