How to tell a friend sorry?

i told a good friend that i might not vote for her for homecoming queen and shes mad at me and now our cheer coach is mad at me WHAT DO I DO

We all understand it's great to be completely honest to your friends. But telling your cheerleading best friend that you may not vote for her as homecoming queen is something you didn't HAVE to do. No one had to know that you might be planning on voting for someone else. With friends, honesty is not always the best policy. Sometimes, you need to use discretion as well.

But the damage is done. So remain distant for a while. Go two or three times being in her presence but not saying anything to her. Just sort of ignore her (I know, it sounds mean..) But then, right when it seems like she's had enough, you sit her down and tell her you regret what you said/did. Tell her you didn't realize how fragile she was and that you value her friendship.

It seems like the only way of rectifying this relationship is to tell her you will vote for her. Some people need a sit-down, some need a hug.. and some people just need to know that their good friend has their back. Tell her you'll vote for her. Who you actually vote for is your business.

Um, well, just go up to her and say "(Insert friend's name here) I'm sorry, I have decided now that I will vote for you, I shouldn't of said that I wouldn't vote for you, really sorry and if I were going for homecoming queen, you would vote for me." see how that goes.

High school drama..... So what if you dont vote for her....she's not a real friend if she gets butt hurt so easily. Your in high school, most likely you wont be friends with her in the future..

Shes being really selfish thinking that you have to vote for her, i would stand my ground but say sorry, its not your fault you aren't her slave.

You can't let her control you but at the same time if she means a lot to you just tell her you are voting for her and then don't.

well..you should of told her a white lie and saying you will...no one knows who you would vote for....or right now..tell her..that when you meant that you wouldn't vote for that you just decided not to even vote for anything!  however your cheer coach shouldn't get mad..what you cant have your own mind??? and its just one vote...gosh...im sorry but that's really immature what they did...your you..you have your own mind and thoughts...no one can get mad at you for that! don't even talk to her!
