  1. A passport is the same for all Filipino citizens, except for the diplomats and several high-ranking officials who holds special passports. The seamen have normal Philippine passports too and in addition they have a seaman's book to go with it.

The classification tourist, business, immigrant, student, worker and etc. are for visa types.

In your application, they are merely asking the reason why you are applying for a passport, basically the same as asking why you are leaving the country. If you want a passport so you can travel, click on tourist. If you need a passport because you will be working abroad, click on worker, etc etc.

  2. its not the passport youre trying to ask... i think its the visa. passport is a booklet. anyway you can see it on your visa, on what type of visa you had, it stated there.

to your second question: contract worker/seaman would have to have a working visa stated on your visa paste on your passport.  while immigrant, your visa would be resident visa.

it depends on you on what you like to apply for.

  4. A passport is all the same.  Your thinking about a visa.  Only a seaman may have one with many pages in it for all the many stamps but the passport all look the same.  Its just an ID and proof of your citizenship.

  5. Don't confuse  passport and visa because the two are entirely different. A  passport  is like an ID granted by  DFA to any of its  nationals who intend to go  abroad and it is  the same  type whether you are a    tourist, on business, immigrant, student, contract worker, seaman and other OFWs.   While a visa is granted by the country to  the person whom wishes to  visit/work/do business  with. For example you want to go to US, you have to apply for a US visa in the US Embassy.  If it is approved, the visa is  being stamped on your passport. The  visa  itself, there is an  annotation- that would explain what type of visa that the holder possess.

If you need more info, visit the website of the country where you wish to go. Each country has  different policies regarding  issuance of  visa.
