How to tell if it's jock itch, how to cure? It is not std ,I never had s*x.

I have these red blotches on the inside of my crotch on either side of my s*****m. They are roundish shaped and red and itch as well as burn. I have deduced it is jock itch but can't be sure and I have never been prone to fungus. It hurts and burns me, and I just started using tea tree oil and it seems to have gotten bigger. I want to stop this immediately. What can I do and is it Jock itch? Please help!!!

  1. It could be jock itch, and it could just be chafing, but my money is on jock itch.

Go to the store and buy a powder made to cure jock itch, like Lotrimin or even gold bond.  You need something that will dry it, and dont scrub it with a washcloth or anything, that will make it worse.

  2. Try a medication instead of tea tree oil.  Herbal remedies are great for some things not when you want to get rid of it NOW.

Go get one of those powdered sprays or a powder for jock itch or athlete's foot, you need a medication that will kill it quickly.  Tinactin, etc.

If it's a fungus/yeast, then you need to keep it as dry as possible.  When you get out of the shower, use a hair dryer and dry the area very good, then apply the powder spray or powder.

If after a week you see no improvement, go to the doctor.  There could be a different type of infection or a really bad fungus that requires something stronger like a systemic medication like Diflucan or an antibiotic.

  3. must be a fungus, athleets foot we call it down here, go to a drugstore and get some antifungus for athleets foot make shure the indications show you can use it in that area, next time use plenty of powder or switch to a cotton thong in the mean time.

  4. its probably chafing. dont use tea tree oil. they actually have a cream that helps. its in a white bottle with a blue star on it, or try desitin the stuff for diaper rash.

  5. Well, yes- it sounds a lot like jock itch.  Jock itch is a fungus caused by the same critter that gives you athlete's foot, and cured with the same medications.  It likes to grow in dark, moist, warm spots- exactly the conditions of the crotch in hot weather.  For starters, you need the cream sold at the store for jock itch.  Lotrimin cream or the generic equivalent will get you some relief pretty quickly.  You also need some air flow to the region, so swap over to boxer shorts and get out of the tightie whities.  Go commando at night, and whenever you reasonably can.  When you shower, which should be once a day- make sure the neighborhood gets nice and dry.  In hot weather, wear clothing loose.  Use a body powder with baking soda in it, and sleep commando at night.  My sons use Gold Bond medicated or Shower to Shower on a daily basis, just to help prevent crotch pot cooking.  So go find yourself some Lotrimin cream, or other athlete's foot cream remedy.  Not powder, or spray- the cream.  Should provide pretty fast relief, and have you smiling in about a day.
