Question:

How to tell if my dog is pregnant?

Okay so my 7 month old dog was just *harassed* by another male. After several minutes of coxing the male dog, they finally became undone. I was wondering if one time is enough to get her pregnant and what the chances were. If so then I think that I would need to get the puppies aborted or talk to my vet because my pup is still growing!

  1. Yes, she is probably pregnant.

Spay immediately.  She is much too young to be having puppies.

  2. after the male has lock for 20 min - 30 min ( you need to keep them still) after 4 weeks you will be able to see the bump growing and then 1 week later you will see milk coming and 4 weeks later the pups will come but you must keep the ***** ( girl dog) in a warm and safe place.

  3. He tied good odds are she is pregnant. Call you vet if they are still open and make an appointment for a spay abort surgery. at 7 months of age she is neither physically mature nor is she mentally ready

A spay abort is much cheaper than a c-section

  4. Watch for sudden changes in the dog's appetite. An early sign of pregnancy is a decreased appetite. This usually happens in the first few weeks of the dog's pregnancy. She'll have an increased appetite as her pregnancy progresses.

  5. If she tied with a male.. then she has a very good chance of being pregnant.

Call your vet and let him know what happened.  You can then make an appt for a spay to be done while its still early along in the pregnancy.

  6. You shouldn't have left her alone where males could get to her.

I think aborting without spaying is possible but very expensive. However if you managed to 'accidentally' mate your dog at 7 months you should spay and abort.

  7. they tied.... shes pregnant

** why on earth would you not want to spay>

  8. yes..take her to the vet and get her fixed now!!!

she has a better chance of surviving an abortion and spay than delivering these pups. she will surely die. the risk of having her spayed and the litter aborted are minor compared to the risks of letting her continue with the pregnancy if she's pregnant. Letting her continue could very well kill her!

  9. One time is enough and she most likely will be knocked up if she allowed herself to be "harassed".

Prepare for everyone to "harrass" you for not getting your dog spayed.

  10. 7 months is not old enough so no she isnt...
