How to tell the family?

what are some creative ways to tell the family that I am expecting. I just got my BFP this morning, but I am waiting to tell the family until the doctor confirms it. I had a great plan to tell my husband, but I wasn't expecting to get a positive test, and I freaked out and just ran in there and showed him the test. I also work for my in-laws and will have to come up with something to miss for the day that I go to the doctor. I am so excited and it is going to be super hard to keep it from everyone, but I want to tell them in a unique way. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance!

  1. With my first pregnancy we took a burp rag and wrapped up some baby stuff, a bottle and teether and gave one to each of the grandparents and one to my sister. With our second pregnancy we just told everyone. With my third we had our daughter wear a shirt that says I am going to be a big sister. Another idea is that my sister gave out greeting cards saying thanks for helping out my mommy and since she already had a daughter it said thanks for babysitting my sister all the time.

  2. There are a couple cute ways that I have heard of. One has already been said by buying "world's greatest grandma" and giving it to your parents / husband's parents. Another I have heard of a picture frame, reading "Announcing the arrival of... Baby!" We had both my parents and my husband's over for dinner and i set the over timer to go off. When it did I asked my dad if he could get the food out and he pulled a bun out of the oven. I thought it was cute and it took everyone a minute to get it, "bun in the oven". But they loved it and thought it was hilarious! I don't know if want to tell them this soon but it is also grandparents day on Sept 7th so you could do something with that! Good luck!

  3. well i just blurted it out because i was so excited. i sit now and think of ways to tell my family this time around with #4. but honestly i cant think of any. good luck and congrats. oh you could make a decorative card with baby stuff on it and give it to them with some kind of baby poem.

  4. Go to the store and purchase "I Love Grandma or I Love Grandpa" bibs and wrap them up.  When you visit, give the gift saying something like, just because presents are sometimes necessary.  If it were closer to mother's day or father's day, it is always nice to give a card signed by the future grandchild.  However, I think that grandparents day is coming - so if you wanted to wait and use the card approach that could work too.  I just looked it up - September 7th this year!!!

  5. try...

    good news and bad news.

bad news your most likely going to need a bigger car or apartment or something and will need to borough $$.

good news it's because your having a baby.

  6. how about leaving an announcement in a baby bottle...yeah, maybe that's cheesy, CONGRATULATIONS

  7. When my aunt was pregnant ( it was at christmas time) she bought her mom and dad sweatshirts that said "Worlds greatest Gandma, pa".  It took them a minute to get it but I thought it was a great way.
