How to tell what type of glucose is in your food?

Do they tend to use the animal tissue/fluid version or he plant version more.

  1. Since glucose is a carbohydrate, I expect that it will be plant sourced.  Glucose present in animal sourced ingredients would only be in trace quantities.   For cost reasons, those trace quantities would make extraction prohibitive.

  3. Glucose is derived from starch (made by plants using photosynthesis). The most common stach used is maize starch. This is then broken down (using enzymes) into the more simple glucose molecules.

    Any glucose in animal tissue/fluid is the result of that animal eating plants/herbivores :)
