  1. what u hve done is write though i found the same thing u  can smell a really musky smell is it for breeding

  2. I dont really know but when i had hamsters oneday my hamster was fat and the next she was running on her wheel skinier then ever and so i guess she was in season then because she had aboouuutt 6? 5? babies then later she had 2 more batches and i was like POOR TOOTS (her name was tootsie so i called her toots for shhort)

  3. Females go into heat (scientifically called estrus) once every 4 days.

When a female comes into heat, breeders can tell by stroking the female's back. If she freezes and stands still, usually with her tail in the air, she's in heat. However not all females will do this when in heat.

Also during estrus time, the female will give off a musky odor and have a discharge (usually a cloudy white color) which might make her genital area look wet.

But only experienced people would be able to point correctly at the symptoms of estrus since the symptoms are very slight and last for a short time only.

  4. You stroked the wrong way...you hold the hamster in your hand and stroke from tail toward her head.  IF she's in her estrus cycle she will freeze with tail up and head down.

But, I would seriously suggest you rethink what you are planning to do, because ONLY professional breeders should attempt this.  The babies are surely hard to give away or sell when they come.  And, there's enough animals in the world that need homes.

Baby hamsters are cute, but they need love and attention, too.  And if your female has 10 - 15 babies at a time, how are you supposed to raise them and handle every one of them to get them ready for new homes if you have new homes for them to go to.

By your other question, you are NOT a professional breeder, because you have done very little if any research into this topic.  I suggest you do A LOT more research before attempting this.  You'll find out alot more things than you can by asking questions on Yahoo Answers.
