  1. For accurate test you have to have a capacitor tester center terminal should be the common. Ratings probably printed on the side be sure to remove wires and discharge before testing. Is it swelled looking, what is symptom of unit?If the fan blade spins freely by hand the info you have is correct about cap or motor. If you can, mark your wires so you know how to reinstall.Take it off and take it to a a/c service shop and let them check the capacitor for you. They shouldn't charge much if any and if it's bad they might have something that would work.If the compressor is running ok that half is ok.It could be run by putting in a single between f&c of the correct size.Just run a jumper from old cap c to new cap and move f wire to new cap.Basicaly the one you have now is two separate caps in one case.If cap tests good bad motor.Shop doesn't have to be for window units, central unit servicer will do.
