Hi, we have a zonemaster 108 fire system alarm and nobody has done the weekly test. I am new here and they asked me to find out how to test this alarm. Couldn't find anything in the internet. Does anybody know how to do it? thanks

  1. it should have a little tester button on it, just press that then press it again to turn it off again

  2. There is usually a button or a light on the bottom of the alarm.  If you hold it down, it should beep, which means it is working.

You can also burn something in the oven and see if it sets off the alarm.

  3. Well, light something up and let the smoke fill up the room and see if it is sensitive to it and reacts by showers u wid a cold dose of water!!!

  4. Do not burn anything to test it, smoke detectors become very sensitive when they are dirty, and smoke is dirty. If this is a commercial setting there is probably a sticker with the name of the company that services it right on the control panel. Call them for assistance. If your system is monitored and you are unsure you could quite possibly scramble the local fire department.

  5. burn your house down

  6. Most fire alarms have a little red button you press and it tests it.

Or alternatively phone your local fire station, im sure they will be more than happy to help you out.

  7. press the reset button if it sounds your all good if not needs to be changed

  8. what part are you wanting to test?    each alarm has a test button on it,

if you are wanting to test to see if smoke or heat will set it off thats a bit harder  you might need to hire a company to test that part for you.

  9. There should be a button with the word test right next to it.

  10. Set your house on fire.

  11. Do you have a chip pan?

  12. Burn something like a piece of paper under the alarm, the smoke from the burned paper should cause it to go on.

  13. I would look for a 'data plate' on the product, something with the manufacturer's name.  There may even be a 'service' label from a local installer, that you can contact.

"ZoneMaster" turns up in searches as electrical surge protection, along with fire alarms...two completely different companies.  On the chance that yours is the system made by Chubb, (often found in the UK), here is a PDF link to a brochure on the ZoneMaster 100 series, with technical specs, and it has the company's phone number at the bottom of the page -

    Good Luck

  14. Have a friend who smokes?

Just kidding, usually you can hit a button that says test and they will usually beep if they are running out of power. If the button is not on the outside, then you may have to take the cover off and press something inside the alarm. I'll look into it for further details.
