How to text message/phone Canada from a mobile in the Uk?

Question

Now, i've managed to text a friend in Canada from the Uk, but only through a Uk number which converted her phone number, when replying.

Whereas she's able to phone and/or text me on my normal number.

Just wondering if given Canadian numbers, if it's possible to phone/message them? The only way I've been able to was replying to her messages.

I know all about the call codes, but still have no luck? What am i doing wrong?

If you are texting a UK mobile with a UK number then you shouldn't need to change anything or at worst put the +44 instead of 0 at the start. If its a Canadian number then you will need to use +1 at the start, if none of these are working then I'm not sure. There's not a lot else to try. Check with your network provider to see if there's a problem with your phone. They can usually run some diagnostics on your handset.

there are a billion sites where you can text people for free from, especially in the north american part of the world but you google them yourself lol.
