  1. Tell them you appreciate the fact that the company supports only a chosen few, which should indicate to you that they see a lot of potential in you.  Let them know that you will try not to let them down and that you will work hard to develop the skills necessary to perform your job superbly.

  2. Woelfe and sandwest both have the right idea, and I would add that a handwritten, personally addressed, mailed thank you will probably get the attention of your employer and HR representative. It takes more personal time to do this, and doing that helps show how much their generosity really means to you.

  3. The best way to repay them is to stay with the job and work for them a while instead of turning around and getting a higher paying job somewhere else because you now have a degree.  It sucks as an employer to make an investment in an employee only to soon after lose them because they have a little more marketability.

  4. Here are a few Do's and Don'ts for thank you note in your situation:

Do keep you workplace thank you simple.

    • Don’t add extra words to your office thank yous. * (See below)

    • Do say thank you often. It may take a while for them to get used to being appreciated.

    • Do not get discouraged if your workplace thank you is misconstrued. As you persistently show your appreciation, your co-workers will get the right idea.

    • Be genuine. Mean it when you say it. Even if you have to Stretch your mind to do it.

    • Do think of something to show appreciation for even in botched workplace situations. Example: I really appreciate all your effort on the project. Then go into what went wrong.

    • Share your appreciation publicly and privately.

    • Do Not Be exclusive in showing your thanks such as only publicly or only privately. Your co-workers may get the wrong impression.

    • Don’t let cynical naysayers sour you to the power of gratitude

    An example can be:

    Dear ___________,

I am deeply thankful for all the help and support you have given me. There aren't enough words to describe how grateful and appreciative I am. I just want you to know that your help has paid off since I am graduating. I am very privilaged and grateful from the bottom of my heart to be able to work for you. Thank you for all your help!

    sincerely,

    your name.

    *be simple and avoid misunderstandings*

    Hope this helps!!!!
