How to they do this magic trick? I've always wanted to know!?

I've seen alot of magic tricks happen, and the one that always gets me is the one that a lady (ususally) lays in a long box with slits in it and then the man (ususally) puts big metal things through the box and she gets out! How to They do that!!?

Also, how to they do the one were a lady gets in a long box standing up and then they take the different parts of the box out and theres nothing there. ? How do they do that one?
