How to throw a football farther

I'm a sophomore in high school and can throw the football about 40-45 yards. I want to get it around 55 or 60. If I work out my arms and shoulders every other day will I reach my goal? I'm useing mainly dumbbells. What other exercises and techniques should i do?

  1. I'm the QB on my team and wat i do is try working out my shoulders by doing handstand push ups and and the machine that pulls ur arms back. also put ur index and middle fingers on the first to threads of the football

  3. simply by throwing your arm should get used to the motion and it will be more naturall increasing your distance and velocity. also you sould do bench press and othe upper body work outs by your self as well as with the team in the weight room

  4. i read an article about increasing your distance.  i heard excersices and stretch routines will do you good and that its a good investment for the later years. however... to increase your distance, the best way to do it is to throw.  keep throwing. they did a reserach that pro footballers have the ability to use a certain type of muscle right at the impact of throwing the ball. they just have this ability to release that specific type of muscle when they throw. it all happens naturally and they gradually develop it naturally as they keep on throwing. so it all comes down to practice and hard work. the day WILL come when you find yourself throwing it farther. so no worries.
