How long do I need to wait after installing the backerboard before I can lay the tile?

  1. Make sure when your installing the backer board that there are no gaps between the backer board joints, large gaps will allow moister to get behide the tile from inside the wall's and the tile will fail after time you can use thin set to fill any you might have.


  2. Backer board is usually screwed into place. You can start setting your tiles right away.

  3. after u install the backer board u are going to have to tape and fill the corners and all joints just like drywall with a mesh tape and a coat of thin set... so i guess 24 hrs after this step is dry, then u can start to tile

  4. s***w the backerboard to the studs, tape the seams with mesh tape and cover the tape with thinset.  once this dries    (a few hours) you are ready for tile.  Good luck!

  5. All three answers are valid, and most especially any time lapse will depend on the dry time of the seam skim coat.
