  1. If you are simply interested in trading in the U.S. markets, you can check out Firstrade ( http://www.firstrade.com/ ).  They offer international accounts.  For more information, visit their website:  http://www.firstrade.com/public/en_us/pr...

  2. You can open an account with the ICICI Direct.   Then you can start trading in overseas equities.

  3. Pawan,

You can trade foreign equity worth $200,000. Govt approved this.

You can contact a good broker like ICICI Direct and Reliance Money, both has collaboration with various foreign brokers. You can trade with stocks from US, UK, Canada, BRIC countries, Japan, Taiwan and Korea.. but this list is not limited too..

You don't bother to convert money but, the indian side broker will take care of that.

Buying, holding, selling foreign stocks are very simple now-a-days...

Does this make sense to you...

Note: Above said both brokers providing foreign trading facility to its customers, if they want.

You have second option by appointing a wealth management company like DSP Merryl Lynch... But, this is commonly for HNI's because 1 crore is the minimum amount you should have.

first one is good... you only need to open an account with one of the above said broker...
