  1. well, clip its wings first of all and then put your hand on its tummy and push a little harder and it will put its leg up then lift your finger up and then give your bird a treat.....I got mine from a friend and it is already trained but I trained it to get use to my hands so yup that's how you train it....(parakeet)

  2. check out http://www.parrotcentral.net/how_to_tame... for good tips on how to handtame your bird, i wouldnt catch it though, that can be dangerous, goodluck!

  3. find out what kind of treat is its favorite then sit beside its cage for a while every day and talk to it, feed it treats

then when it doesnt seem so nervous, slowly put your hand in the cage, but if it freaks out take your hand out so it wont hurt its self

keep putting your hand in there every day and talk to it and give it treats

thats how we got our Cockatoo to accept us, we gave him peanuts and everytime we gave him one, we would hold out our hand under the peanut and say step up

now, whenever you open his cage, he expects to "step-up" and doesnt run

  4. You should not have to 'catch' a bird.  It wings should be trimmed and it cannot fly away then.  It will flap to the floor, you say 'Step Up" and save it from the dangerous floor.  This is easy.  One or two times and the bird knows what to do to get off the floor.
