  1. My summer exercise routine consists of 1 1/2 hours of cardio 3 days a week, lifting and aerobics 3 days a week, and plyometric exercises everyday.

I also go to my local club 3 days a week, serve till I get at least 20 serves in a row in, have my dad set me 20 line and 20 cross court hits (20 hits that are in, of course), pass 30 serves from my dad into a ball basket placed in the setter position, and then set into a ball basket placed about a foot off the net in the strong side, middle, and week side positions. I also help him with the same exercises.

hope this might help ya out =P

  2. there should be open gym at ur school during the summer

  3. As you are talking about "varsity" season, I would assume that you are older than 14 years old.

It is highly recommended that you follow the "off-season" training program described in Robert G. Price's book "The Ultimate Guide to Weight Training for Volleyball".

Believe it or not, this book is usually $11.53 during weekend, but at full price $16.95 during weekdays.

  4. The best way to practice and build muscle during the summer is to play at the beach. this helps because your body will get used to the intensity of playing in the sand (epsecially if you are a hitter or middle blocker like I am) that when you play on an indoor court you will have amazing height.

    good luck!
