Question:

How to train myself into a physical therapist?

I am currently studying as a Physical Therapist (3rd year), and as of now.. my grades are well, just on the hook - in between best and worst.

Anyway, my profs have told us that what impresses them the most on a student is that they may not be the best in written exams or oral, but when they are already in clinics, they are reported to be one of the best or at least the feed backs are very impressive.

I have not worked on any clinics and I don't think at my place, they would hire someone at my age (nineteen) especially that I am still a student, unlike nursing, people could pay for a training.

I want to make myself aware of the clinical cases.. please any help or suggestions?

  1. Getting paid practice in PT unless you are fully qualified is not impossible. It is not the same as an institution paying for your university training.

In the US, there is a 3-tier system. PTs are at the top, then PTA (licensed physical therapy assistant, which has its own training in a 2-year college program), then a PT or rehab "aide". Aides are trained on-the-job and the position is for someone without formal PT training.

I seriously doubt you'll find an institution that will pay for your PT training.
