I have 8500 songs on a 60Gb Ipod (2005) that I dont want to lose! Ive downloaded Sharepod and the .NET framework patches/related updates. Itunes wants to update/reformat ipod before recognizing songs. This is v bad! Cant even recognize Ipod as an external storage device. Any suggestion/ideas very much appreciated. TY

  1. the PodPlayer program from ipodsoft.com is free and lets you copy songs from your iPod onto your computer. I've never used it for more than a couple songs at a time though, so I'm not sure how it does in bulk.

  2. Try iPodRip for Windows. Free for 30 days. That should last you long enough.

  3. You need ImTOO WMA MP3 Converter

ImTOO WMA MP3 Converter is MP3 to WMA converter, WMA to MP3 converter and AAC to MP3 converter to convert WMA to MP3, convert MP3 to WMA and convert AAC to MP3. The WMA MP3 converter can convert WMA files to MP3 and convert AVI, MPEG, WMV, ASF, MP4, WAV, M4A, AAC, AC3 and OGG to MP3 and WMA. ImTOO WMA MP3 Converter provides easy ways to convert audio files with a few clicks.

  4. itune blocks this function since itune is the tool with one way to transfer files from itune to ipod. you must utilize other tools to achieve that. There're couple of tools for transferring the files between ipod and computer (for backup)depends on your demands, e.g transfer only songs/videos, transfer photos etc. You can have a look of below review site, hope it useful.

  5. without a third party application that can be downloaded from the internet, you can't you have to export your song list on the old iTunes, and then import it on the new iTunes which redownload all the songs again, but if thats too late try the site the guy above me gave you
