How to transfer video from camcorder to computer?

When I transfer video from a camcorders hard disk to my computer will the time ticker and date stay on the video when I play it on my computer?

No, it won't.  Hard drive camcorders use MPEG-2, which doesn't include a date / time stamp.

You may need to adjust a setting in your camcorder's recording menu to prevent the camera from saving the time code to the media during recording.  Consult your owner's manual

The time display will  -probably- still show.

The only way to be sure is to transfer the video.  Unless you have one of the newest digital recorders, the time display is part of the video.
