Question:

How to treat an infected ear ?

Well, I'm pretty sure it's an infection...?

Like, on top of the part where the earring goes in the whole, there's like a bump, you know.. its like... iduno what it's called.. its like a bubble but not a bubble.. i can't pop it? so yeah... how to treat it?

  1. Sounds like a sebaceous cyst. They're not unusual around pierced-ear holes. Try applying a warm (not HOT) wet washcloth to the area for 10-15 minutes two or three times a day. Often, that will get it to open and drain. If it does, apply some triple-antibiotic cream when it stops. Keep treating until you can no longer feel the bump.

    While it's technically an infection, it's not dangerous. Also, keep track of what earrings you've been wearing when it happens - some people have problems with some metals or with heavy earrings, and you may need to avoid certain earrings. Good luck.
