Question:

How to treat blisters on my feet right before a race??

I'm running a 10-mile race on Saturday and I have blisters on both feet that get irritated and bulge when I run more than 3 miles. I ran 6 yesterday and don't want to run long again before Saturday, but they did kill like crazy yesterday and get bad again. I can only imagine what they'll be like on Saturday.

My shoes are asics and I've been running in them all summer. My feet have been blistering up since mid-July. At this point, I don't want to try new shoes, but any help/advice on how to treat the blisters and how I could wrap my feet or something for the race would be great!

  1. Blisters are caused by friction, your shoes do not fit properly. Either they are too big or too loose.  You must find a way to prevent the shoe from moving against the skin of your foot.  It may take 6 weeks to heal properly. Sorry about the pain. It can be dangerous.  Good luck.
