  1. Make SURE they get a middle seat, regardless of what their boarding pass says.


  2. Intellectually disabled persons have the same rights as everyone else.

    Greet, speak clearly, ask the person if they require assistance, do not touch. The person has the right to choice, be careful not to violate that right.

    Be patient as the person may require more time than usual to comprehend.

    People who have had no dealings with the intellectually disabled may feel uncomfortable but this is unnecessary.

  3. depending on his "brain age" he may need a sitter....but any FA should treat him the same as any other person.  Not sure I completely understood the ?

  4. You treat them like humans. You treat them like you would like to be treated. I have found in my interactions with mentally disabled people that the best way to treat them is with respect and dignity. I work with several on a daily basis and that approach will get you farther than all the therapies in the world.
