How to treat toothache???

I want to know how people treated toothaches in the 1900's . i need to know the causes and how it was treated please help!!!

Well I don't understand what you mean by the causes.I know they used oil of cloves back then.

Ground clove powder and whiskey mixed into a paste and packed into the tooth.  It's an old folk remedy and it really does work!
