  1. No you do not have to see a doctor but you also want to make sure it is a yest infection and not something else.

The garlic glove is a really good idea, just do not forget to take the skin off.

You need to continue to have good diet practices, fruits, veg, fiber, no a lot of sugary things.

Eat a lot of yogurt from the health food stores not from the grocery stores. I am a big fan of daily acidophilus-5 billion & milk free with FOS. Using this daily will put the good flora into the intestinal tract and put healthy bacteria into your system. Good luck

  2. The garlic clove is a tried and true remedy I live by. I can't use over-the-counter suppositories - they don't work and more often than not make my yeast infections so much worse. Generally, I use powdered garlic in gel caplets, but that's just for storage convenience. A clove would be less messy and you can leave in all day, I generally stuck in 2-4 garlic caplets/day.

Alternatively, use plain yogurt. Take a surgical glove (the thin rubber kind) and fill the fingers with yogurt. Stick it in the freezer, and voila, 5 suppositories that are cold (good for easing the itching!). Use 1-3 times/day.

With both garlic and yogurt you should continue using them for a few days after symptoms have cleared up just to make sure it wasn't just hiding and won't spring back immediately after getting off the remedy.

  3. well you don't "have" to see a doctor if you have seen one in the past and know for sure that this is in fact a yeast infection and not something else...

you can go to a healthfood store and get something called "Yeast Arrest" which is a herbal suppository that works really well. Another thing that works is taking probiotics (the live cultures in yogurt) daily for 6 months to build up your friendly bacteria in your intestines. YOu can also ..I know this sounds nuts, insert a clove of garlic directly into your v****a. I would definetly use a needle and put a string through it first though so you can get it back out easily. Leave th is in overnight.  The over the counter regular drugstore monistat stuff works too but is expensive.

  4. If you've never had a yeast infection, it's best to see a doctor to make sure.

If you have, you can buy a product like Monistat OTC at the drugstore.

Here's an article that has good info on natural products:
