Question:

How to troubleshoot slow webpage loading?

I am using:

IE 7.0.5730.13

Windows XP SP3 Home Edition

MSI P35 Neo3

Intel C2D 7200

2x1GB Kingston RAM (667MHz)

GeForce 9600 GT

Broadband Cable split by a Linksys WRT54G router, but using cabled (ie not wireless) and latest firmware

My webpages are loading very very slowly and frequently end up with 'Unable to open webpage error'.

I have ruled out ISP since the other computer on the same network is doing OK.

I just tested my speeds:

Download -1009 kbps (126.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload - 166 kbps (20.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

(OK not fantastic but loading 4~5 webpages at a go doesnt need any higher right?)

Currently I have just one IE open with ~4-5 tabs and MSN (no heavy duty torrent or online game)

What are the steps to troubleshoot what is causing this problem?

Thanks
