How to tune my amp/sub/hu???

hey i installed a amp sub and head unit to my car just wanted to know the best way to tune it up to get the best out of it i listen to rap, hip hop, r n b etc...

Amp-Vibe Slick A0 Mono Amplifier

Sub-Vibe Slick SLR 12"

Speaker- 2x 15w on the back shelf and 2x 10w on/in the dash (factory fit)

  1. turn all your levels down.  tweets, mid, woofer, sub, gains, etc.  Turn off any bass boosts or anything like that you've got.  Now, depending on which speakers you're working on, you'll want some test tones.  for your main speakers in the car you'll want a 1 khz test tone and for subs a 50 hz test tone should be good.  Play a test tone and start turning the gain on the respective amplifier up until it sounds different, then back it off a bit.  This will get the gains on your amps set right.  From there, any tweaking of eqs or what have you is up to you.  I wouldn't touch them at all unless you know what you're doing.  You could mess up your sound more by trying to adjust them.  But that's up to you.  Nothing beats a quality install.
