  1. It's your feet that make the board turn, you need to put more power in those feet to make the board turn more noticably. If your legs are not strong enough, find an exersize that win put more power in those legs.

  2. The answer is in the tail, Grasshopper...

  3. The other answers have the right idea but they are missing a few details. To gain speed, make sure you pump hard downward and then turn not as hard as you can, but hard enough to keep yourself NOT in front of the wave too much.  Make sure your board is waxed a lot and properly. And make sure u put a coat of base wax to make ur wax job last longer. Make sure board isn't too big either.  If its long, the turns  will most likely be wider, but too wide and a lot harder to manuever.  Too short and your turns might not be wide enough.  Once you get turning down or if you already have, set out a flurry of small turns with a short board.  A midsized board should work but it depends on ur sixe.  Best of luck to you.

P.S. An extremely important detail is control on the pressure of the tail. You dont notice too much when you are performing it but when you do, try to control it. Mastering pressure control is the key to the best turns.

  4. like with every big move in surfing SPEED is the key. gather up as much speed as you can then dig your rails in push through the whole turn in a nice arc. So the more momentum you have and the sudden fluid directional change(without bogging) the more spray you push out. As for making your turns aesthetically pleasing well that really depends on how smooth and effortless you make it look, or how aggressive you make it seem

  5. bend your knees a little bit and try to move your arms and swoosh your back ,in the way you're trying to go.
