Question:

How to turn off google's autocomplete and turn back on the auto complete of searches I've done before?

OK, so it used to be that when I went to search in google, it would start to complete it using a past search. All the sudden now, instead of doing that, what comes up for autocompletion is searches from google (that I've never searched before but google suggests). This is not what I prefer, how do I switch it back to only autocomplete what I've actually searched myself, not the google database. Thanks in advance. I use Firefox btw.

  1. http://www.google.com/support/toolbar/bi...

  2. Just type in this URL - http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0 and the autocomplete (Google Suggest) features is turned off. I don't really know if the Firefox autocomplete will be enabled, but it's very much worth trying out.

To turn on inline autocomplete in the Firefox web browser

       1. Enter about:config in the URL field

       2. Right-click on the page and create a new Boolean value

       3. Enter browser.urlbar.autoFill as the preference name

       4. Set the value to true
