How to turn on Intrusion Detection on Norton Internet Security 2005?

Well my Norton Internet Security 2005 is working fine except "Intrusion Detection". While I try turning it on, it gives me an error message saying "An error has occurred. If this error occurs again, uninstall and reinstall the product. I can't do this because Norton is already pre-installed onto my computer. Although the only way to fix this issue would be a Factory Default. I don't really want to do this because I don't want to lose my data. If anyone has a solution please tell me. Thankyou in advanced.

Also, whenever I open the Internet Security, it gives me the same message. Everything works fine still, except "Intrusion Detection".

I am curious that it is 3 years old and still working.  Is it still updating?

It might not be turning on because it is not working any longer.  Open the program and see what the expiration date is.
