  1. At least you're asking.

Just slow down. I take all 90 degree turns at 2nd gear. I coast into the turn with the clutch pulled in, then release and gas it on the way out of the turn as I stand it back up.

Slow down a bit man you'll be OK.

  2. Just practice.  Find a deserted parking lot and just practice your turns.  Use the lines as references.  Do this over and over till you catch yourself asking "how could this ever have seemed hard?"

  3. talk dirty to it?

  4. you gotta lean...... and slightly turn the handle

  5. Honest to God, straight up dude, if you have to ask this question you should be no where NEAR a sports bike... that's just pathetic.

Get a scooter or bicycle even and practice on that first.

  6. Just because its called a sports bike does not say it should be ridden flat out. It sounds to me like your riding to fast for the corner.

Yes do a riding course.  They are best able to identify your problems and help deal with them.

While they do cost a bit of money,  they only need to teach you a single action that later saves you from just one incident in your 'life time'  and its paid for its self.  On most bikes replacing the indicators or even paying your insurance excess will cost more than the outlay  for the riding course. Therefor a single missed incident pays for the course.

  7. "should I use the brakes?"

Yes, if you're making a 90 degree right hand at a 1 lane intersection, you should be nearly stopped... same as in a car, dude. So this usually requires you to slow down, unless you are already stopped at a light/sign. Think about how you do it in a car... where you usually brake all the way into the first part of the turn-in...

    "[should I ] downshift?"

Umm, just how fast do you think you should be going when you make this sorta turn, btw? Even if it's a sports bike, it can't make a right hand turn any faster than a yugo, my friend. At least in the Yugo, if you turn too hard you'll just squeal the tires a little.. on a sports bike that's not a good idea.

  8. how do you turn on a sports bike?

suck on the tail pipe of course....lol

lean into the turn, you wont do it sitting straight up

  9. Take an MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) basic riding course and learn to ride properly, so you don't hurt yourself or someone else.

You've got to lean into turns, push on your left grip, and look where you want to go (look there, go there)...and of course downshift before going into the turn, so you are at a manageable speed for your ability. You may find 2nd gear to be your comfort level for a while.
