How to turn on my wireless on my laptop?

Question

ok i have a hp tx 1000 laptop...lately my wireless haws being giving me problems such as

1- the wireless light on the physical switch will be on and within minutes it will turn off its self, then when i try to turn it back on with the switch it wont respond. then i turn off my laptop and turn it back on and the wireless will work again for a while.

2- one time i turned my laptop on and the wireless was not working for anything in this world, i re booted my computer and it started working again but within hours it stop working again.

IS THERE A PLACE WITHIN THE COMPUTER ITS SELF LIKE THE SOFTWARE OR WHATEVER (I DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT COMPUTERS LOL) THAT I CAN MANAGE MY WIRELESS, LIKE TO TURN IT ON AND OFF? I HAVE WINDOWS VISTA. i know my wireless thing is fine is just the switch I'm guessing. pleaseeeeeee helppppppppp

You have a damaged wireless port. You should buy a new one or a laptop card.

A wireless port is the component in your computer that sends and receives the wireless internet signal.
