How to turn the audio from a movie DVD into a CD (mp3 format)?

I have a DVD of my kids choir that I would like to turn into a CD. I need a program that will allow me to take the DVD audio and convert it into mp3 format. I should be able to handle it from there.

If you know any good programs for this, I'd appreciate it.
