  1. It's usually represented by m^2

  2. The metre is designated by m (small m).

For units of square measure m2 is usually used.

In Word and Excel anyway you can format the 2 as superscript under format font (I tried to Copy Paste to here but it did not work)

  3. It depends on what software you are using, for HTML escape codes (which you can use here)  you could use M²  = M²

In a word processor or other application you might check the help file for "superscripts"

  4. I just keep a text file and copy from that as needed.

    here are some char:

    ∫  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚‰Âˆ ± ≠  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚ˆÂ› ∜ ∂ ∇ ∆ ≤ ≥ ∼ ∞

    ±√(² + ²)

    º ≈ ± ≠ ⁰ ¹ ² ³ ⁴ ⁵ ⁶ ⁷ ⁸ ⁹  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚‚€ ₁ ₂ ₃ ₄ ₅ ₆ ₇ ₈ ₉

    £ ¢  ÃƒÂ‚½Â² ⅓ ⅔ ¼ ¾ ⅜ ⇌ ➔

    ≈ ≃ ≈ ≠ ∠ —

    ε ω θ ρ Ω µΩΔ ∑ παβγδΣΥηλξφϕρσψΔ⌘Å

  5. It won't do it in these text boxes but if you want to type m^2 in a text document ...

push ctrl shift then +  (in that order and make sure you don't let go of any of the buttons) this will move your cursor to the top right of the m and then you can just push "2" for your superscript.  To bring the cursor back down push the same thing.  For subscript you can do the same thing without the shift button
