How to understand American Football Plays?

I know the basic rules for football but I don't know some plays. I keep hearing MOTION, SHADOW left or right, and DOUBLE TEAM. I'm a Offense Guard if that helps. But I just don't know when to Double Team or when I have to get the Mic Linebacker.

  1. It's based entirely on your scheme.  You should talk with your coaches so they can help you understand what you guys are doing on offense.

  2. We can't answer your question on the double team, because each head coach will want you to block according to his scheme. You'll have to pay attention in parctice. Motion is pretty simple, it's just a player moving across the formation- shouldn't affect a G at all. Shadow sounds like a formation name, which can vary by every team.

  3. the key is for your ballcarrier to gain as many yards as he can, so just keep that in mind

  4. ask your coach because all your plays are unique so no any other team can understand.

yours are MOTION, SHADOW DOUBLE TEAM.

mine are TURBO, GAT, RINGO, LUCKY
