How to unhidden/show files and folders from a computer?

Question

my data was hidden by my sister accidentally and i really need to unhidden the folders to get my project as soon as possible.

My files was in a USB (universal serial bus) and i wanted to retrieve it... as of now,my USB shows nothing..as if they were no files on it but actually all of my files were hidden.

Question:

how to unhidden files from computer or Usb? im using windows xp as my Operating system.

If your trying to say what i think, which is you want to unhide the files, then make them so they are visible again.

1)Go to folder where they are.

2)Go to top, and Select Tools.

3)Click on "Folder Options"

4)Go to "View" tab.

5)Then should come across something asking weather you want to show, or hide files.  Click on "show hidden files and folders".

6)Click "ok" at bottom.

Go to where folders are. Highlight files that are hidden. Right click, then select "Properties". Then near the bottom, you shoudl see the word "Hidden" with a tick next to it.

Click on the tick to uncheck the box, then click apply, then ok.

Follow 1st set of instructoins, to change back to hide hidden files.

If your files were "hidden" as you said and not deleted, you can go to look at the usb drive through your computer and once you are looking at where the files should be, go to the top of the screen and click "Tools" on the menu bar, and select "Folder Options", and then select the "View" tab and scroll down to the "Hidden Files and Folders" selection, and select "Show Hidden Files and Folders" and click OK. Your files should appear. If not, then they were deleted or moved, and I cant help you there. Goodluck
