How to uninstall programs.. it wont let me uninstall in control panel try to turn off firewall still wont let

this is frustrating i need to take this program that i dont need.. it says cannot open install.log help please!

The install.log is corrupted... go to program files... Click Computer > C Drive > Program Files... find the folder and delete it... then run a registry cleaner... like... CCleaner. This will remove active-x and registry entries left over after you delete the program folder. Now your good as new.

in case you dont know how to open the registry

go to start

run and type regedit and hit enter

this should work it worked for me on a program i had trouble with

Use RevoUninstaller:

It's faster and better than add / remove applet.

When you run it highlight the item then select uninstall in next window select Advanced and click Next, follow prompts when uninstalled it will scan registry and drive for leftover files / folders, tick ONLY the bold items and follow prompts.

If you mean the Windows firewall then just go to security and de-activate it.

BUT why would you leave your computer to the rest of those hackers open? to spy on you? I would keep that firewall active to protect you, from those nasty people.

There can be several reasons for this.

I would first try to uninstall while booted in SAFEMODE.  If that doesn't work, google < uninstall + the name of the program >.  You may find a special program is needed for this.

don't panic,go into start and type the name of the program into search  and search everywhere,right click on every instance of the item and click delete,if its disallowed double click the item to open it then right click every item within it and delete.

once all counts of the item are deleted go into recycle bin and empty it.

when you go into control panel uninstall now and click the program name i message will show 'sorry this program appears to be already uninstalled would you like to remove the name' click yes and its all done.
