How to unlock an Ipod nano

My sister gave my niece her ipod and my niece turned it on the other day and it came to the screen that asks for a code. We tried everything and nothing is working. Does anyone have any suggestions or know if there is a default code? or do you have to set a code before you can lock your ipod? THANK YOU!!

Connect it to the computer, with her iTunes library

Try setting the whole code to 0000.

That should work.

My dad had the same problem, i just did 0000 and it worked. I'm thinking that's the default! Hope that works for you.
