How to unlock (not the password) your windows vista laptop?? [READ]?

how do you unlock your windows vista laptop? not the passowrd! its just that whenever I turn it off it doesn't turn off it just goes to sleep and when I press the on button it says " locked" so I click enter to enter the PC but I want to turn down the laptop entirely so I have to actually wait for the desktop and the PC to light up!

I'm thinking that you're asking how to shutdown your laptop, as opposed to putting it to sleep.

Click the Windows Orb (start) lower left.

At the bottom, you see an icon that looks like a power button.  This puts the computer to sleep.

Next to it is a lock icon.

Next to that is an arrow icon.  Click it and you'll get a menu of shutdown options.  Choose Shutdown.
