  1. For Nokia phones:-

    http://unlock.nokiafree.org/

This site does it for free, used it many times over the last few years.

Just be careful when you type in the codes as you only get 5 attempts to get it right, so if you get down to your last 2 chances take it to a local independant phone shop, most of them will unlock nokias and any other phone they can do(incase yours isn't a nokia) for between £5 and £10.

    EDIT:

Looks like George beat me to it! Have a thumbs up!

    ANOTHER EDIT:

You want to switch to virgin, but what network is it locked to now? If it currently locked to T-Mobile you don't need to unlock it to work with a Virgin SIM.

  2. This really very much depends on the phone make and model.

There are websites for such things , but each seems to deal with a specific model.

To unlock certain models of Nokia, here is a website that always worked for me for the DCT4 models:

    http://nokiafree.org/free-nokia-unlock-c...

If you can be more specific about the type of phone and model, we might be able to help you further.

Hope the above does help you though...

  3. as the two previous guys showed, nokia is about the only one you'll find for free.  here's a few that can unlock most phones but aren't free:

    http://unlockcellphonecode.com

  4. What model f Sony Mate.

  5. he means so it can take all sims

i would also like to know so i can change from o2 to orange

  6. unlock as in you need a PUK code or unlocked so you can put another network sim in?

  7. I recommend you visit this website:

    http://www.phonedevil.com/shop/simdevil....

Its a special phone unlocking simcard.  It supports over 992 handset models.

Unlike a conventional phone unlock it doesn't void the warranty, so if you break the phone you can still get it repaired for free.

    It's £9.95 (about $15)

I use mine with my Nokia N95 and it works great :)
