Question:

How to unsubscribe to a group?

Many years back, I subscribed to Meteorology group. I occasionally revieved emails with legitimate questions. Recently, I have been getting emails (spam) which have nothing to do with meteorology. The email address which is in my subscription is not the email address I use today (all emails are forwarded and there is no way to use the old email address to unsubscribe). When I log in to Yahoo, it tells me I am not a member of the group in question (although the emails I get appear to come from this group). How can I unsubscribe so as not to receive the spam in question?

  1. first go to the link below and see if the group is amoung your other's. you may joined under another ID but using hte same e-mail address. the group spam may be spoofed and not really going to that group, or also going per member. hard to say.

go to this link http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups click edit my groups on the top left- locate group (if there's more than one) under the last  column Leave Group, check small box - click save changes

  2. Here is how you can unsubscribe from a Yahoo Group:

    1.Try to unsubscribe through:

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/...

    2. If this doesn't work out, send an e-mail to the group owner telling him/her to stop mailing you. (GROUPNAME-owner@yahoogroups.com)

If these still didn't work for you try the following options:

    3. Block the address(es) or arrange your preferences so that they are sent to your bulk/spam folder.

    4. Contact yahoo customer care:

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/...

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/...

  3. Why not sign out of your current address then sign into the old one?  If you did that you could then  go to the group site click edit my membership along the top then tick leave group  then save on the next window that comes up.  Failing that when you receive the next mesage from the group  at  your new address, click options along the top then click on block addresses  and add the address to your blocked list.

  4. Try scrolling down to the very bottom of the forwarded e-mails.  My husband is a member of a Yahoo Group and at the bottom of each e-mail is :  unsubscribe.  Click it and see if it will work.  Good luck
