How to unsubscribe to a text message service?

I subscribed to USA Today's thing in their sports section that gives you updates on your favorite baseball team when they finish their game. But now I want to get them to stop texting me. Does anyone know how?

Try replying back "stop" or "unsubscribe".  Then you may get a text saying confirming that action. I used it for a sports station texting service and it worked.

Reply with the word: "stop"

This should do the trick, if it doesn't work contact your provider and they can stop if from their end.
