How to update with Action Replay DS?

Question

I plug my wire into my action replay and my PC, a dell laptop. They window that says 'New software' and some other things pops up. I normally say 'yes, this software and other devices' or whatever it says. Then I let it connect automatically and then it never loads...am I supposed to wait for a long time, or is there a problem? Can you give me a step by step process on how to update it?
