  1. To move it on the computer is easy - just put the disc in and copy the files...

But to use the files, that is a nbit more complicated - you will end up with 4-5 VOB files, which are essentially mpeg2 video files, you can play the files in Windows Media Player or any other video player in computer, but to send it to someone over the internet - you need to convert it to something much smaller. Like DivX format which will make 700MB file out of 4.5 GB DVD files. Or even smaller - WMV files (with quality loss but at least, you could send them then)

There are plenty of free converters, this is just one of them:

but you could google VOB to AVI (or mpg) converter" and choose another one...

That one I sent you like for, does need to copy the files from disc onto computer first. It can create the "smaller" computer file directly from inserted DVD.

    Have fun, good luck

  2. This DVD Ripper is the most powerful one that I have used before. It has great power to rip DVD to video of all formats. You can free download here:

Other DVD ripper you can get from:

Unbiased reviews and side-by-side comparisons of DVD Ripper give you enough information to research the ins and outs of a particular product.
