  1. BIODEGRADABLE : Which can be degraded < broken down > by micro-organisms completely to ultimately yield carbon oxygen hydrogen and water. Example of such wastes are paper, vegetables (kitchen refuse) cotton clothes human excreta etc ie anything which is organic,

    NONBIODEGRADABLE : which cant be broken down completely even after sufficiently long period of exposures. Eg. All metals glass plastic batteries <non organic>
