  1. For IP-PBX, there are hosted solutions, software solutions, and hardware solutions.

For a hosted solution, you could try packet8.

For a software solution, you can try a Windows based solution from 3CX Corporation.  It is free to test and try for small installations:

    http://www.3cx.com/

For an off the shelf component solution, configure and connect hardware components, do-it-yourself solution, you could try the Linksys SPA9000 IP-PBX solution:

    http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite...

Connect it to SPA901, 921, 941 IP-Phones as extension lines.

    http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite...

Whether you use the 3CX or Linksys SPA9000 solutions, you can then connect your IP-PBX to BYOD (bring your own device) SIP-based VoIP service providers like CallCentric and InPhonex for all your incoming phone number assignments and outgoing world-wide VoIP calling.

I also use the free down-loadable 3CX VoIP Client Softphone on my PC as my preferred Softphone for connectiong to pay-as-you-go VoIP services like CallCentric, InPhonex, Les.net, Voip.ms, etc.

Hopefully, with the above information, you can find a solution for getting started with an VoIP IP-PBX systems.
