How to use a drabber? or hair color filler?

my hair has more red tones than i like & i was interested in using something like this: Unred Hair Color Drabber ( http://www.sallybeauty.com/Unred%20Hair%20Color%20Drabber/ARDELL17,default,pd.html ) how would i use it ?

get a semi permanent color that is what you want as your end result and add the to it... ash or natural in the name of a color will clue you in to its base color that is needed t neutralize the red...
